Recently, our Year 6 students hosted an exhibition to demonstrate their understanding of deeper thinking. Students worked in teams to explore a real-world problem, develop their own lines of inquiry and undertake independent research. They have been guided by a mentor, but also had autonomy to explore their own ideas, and enhanced their skills in the 6Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Character and Citizenship. The outcome is not just the learning on display, but the longer-term aptitude and interest to keep learning deeply throughout life. Exhibition showcased this to their parents and to their peers. Year 6 inspire us with their passion for learning and set the standard for the benefits of inquiry-based learning.
