There are many ways parents are encouraged to be active within the school community. We offer a parent education program which supports the school wellbeing program and provides valuable information and resources for parents as their children move through the stages of their development. The Parents & Friends Association (PAFA) also provides parents with regular parent and community forums. These are supplemented by a range of breakfast, twilight and evening information meetings. This year PAFA has funded a subscription to SchoolTV, an online student wellbeing resource for parents where leading Australian professionals address a range of topics relevant to raising safe, happy and resilient young people.
Parents add to the life of the School in a number of ways, through active membership of the Parents and Friends Association, the Class Parent Network and as mentors, guest speakers and partners in learning. The Class Parent network is a group of parent volunteers who assist the School in welcoming new parents, organising small social functions, supporting PAFA and offering assistance when required.
Class teachers in the Junior School and subject teachers in the Senior School often draw on the experience and knowledge of the parent body to complement their programs.
