Peter and the Wolf is the story of a curious boy, his fearful grandfather, his animal friends and a big bad wolf.
Film, TV and Theatre star Penny McNamee narrates Prokofiev’s charming musical tale.
Conducted by Eric Hutchens and performed by the Senior Orchestra, Peter and the Wolf tells the story of a curious and courageous boy, his fearful grandfather, his animal friends and a big bad wolf.
With different instruments in the orchestra depicting each character, we discover how a flute can sound like a bird, an oboe like a duck and the clarinet like a slinky cat. Peter, played by the string section, ignores his grandfather’s advice and goes into the meadow to play. The horns sound and out of the forest comes the wolf. Will Peter and his friends get out of trouble? Can they outsmart the wolf?
