Head of Learning Analytics | Permanent Full Time

The Head of Learning Analytics at Hills Grammar School is a pivotal role that focuses on utilising data to drive educational outcomes, strategic planning, and decision-making processes. The Head of Learning Analytics will enable the school to access and understand data through deep analysis and explanation of that data to various audiences with the explicit intent to improve individual and whole school student learning and wellbeing. The role requires a blend of leadership, analytical expertise, and a deep understanding of educational environments.  This role is essential for providing accurate and appropriate data to facilitate precise target setting, assessment, and intervention. The Head of Learning Analytics will work closely with the Executive and Leadership Teams and reports directly to the Director of Learning and Teaching. The role is a teaching position with a reduced teaching load.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy to support the school’s academic and operational goals.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all data systems within the school.
  • Design and deliver advanced data analytics, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making at all levels of the school.
  • Provide training and support to staff in the use of data and analytics tools, promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Work closely with the school’s leadership team, teaching staff, and IT department to integrate data analytics into the school’s operations and curriculum.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection regulations and school policies.
  • Liaise and consult with the Director of Learning and Teaching regarding the analysis of the School’s NAPLAN, PAT, and HSC data. 
  • Track students across NAPLAN and PAT cycles to identify key strengths and weaknesses.
  • Identify and Analyse patterns in student improvement across NAPLAN, PAT, and HSC cycles.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of educational data, including assessment results, attendance, wellbeing, and student progression metrics. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data in a clear and impactful way.
  • Experience working closely with educators to translate data into actionable teaching strategies.

Maintenance/Facilities | Permanent Full Time | Immediate Start with Flexibility  

Are you enthusiastic about maintaining a clean and beautiful environment? Hills Grammar School is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Maintenance/Facilities team. This role involves collaborating with the maintenance and grounds team to ensure the upkeep of our school's buildings, grounds, and sporting fields. Key requirements include a strong understanding of safe work practices, the ability to problem-solve and work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team, and a valid driver’s licence. The role reports directly to the Head of Maintenance assisted by the Assistant Head of Maintenance. 

Main duties will include:  

  • Performing general maintenance and minor building works. 
  • Following a regular schedule of tasks and maintenance audits. 
  • Accessing roofs when necessary, adhering to Safe Work Procedures. 
  • Moving and relocating furniture as needed within the school. 
  • Assisting with manual tasks, including lifting and setting up for school events, in compliance with WH&S guidelines. 
  • Regularly collecting supplies from authorised suppliers. 
  • Contributing to the School Maintenance Plan and Essential Annual Safety Measures.

Mathematics Teacher | Permanent Full Time | Commencing Term 1, 2025

Purpose

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teachers to join our team at Hills Grammar in Term 1,2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to students from Years 7 to 12. 

This role requires a commitment to fostering a love for mathematics, a deep understanding of the curriculum, and the ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional standards that align with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the NSW Mathematics syllabus for Stages 4 to 6. 
  • Teach Mathematics across Years 7 to 12. 
  • Develop, implement, and assess differentiated teaching and learning programs to cater to diverse student abilities. 
  • Foster a classroom environment that reflects the school's learning culture, setting high expectations and empowering students to be reflective and resilient learners. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and productive learning environment. 
  • Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, contributing to the broader school community.

Key Selection Criteria:

Economics/ Commercial Studies Teacher | Permanent Full Time | Commencing Term 1, 2025

Purpose

We are inviting applications for an ongoing Full Time Economics/Commercial Studies Teacher, to join our team in Term 1 2025. This role will involve Stage 6 Economics along with Stage 5 Commerce and potential for another HSIE subject area, such as Geography or Legal Studies.
