School Accountant | Permanent Full-Time / or Part-Time
We are currently seeking a dedicated, accounting professional, reporting to the Finance Manager, to assist in the financial management of the School.
As the School Accountant, you'll be an essential part of our small but experienced Finance team, to keep our financial daily operations running smoothly. If you thrive in a collaborative, and supportive environment, excel at maintaining accurate records, and enjoy making a real impact through diligent financial management, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and department budgets.
- Preparing, reviewing and overseeing bank reconciliations, credit cards and cash flow management.
- Maintain and update the general ledger including balance sheet reconciliation, journal entry, month end and year end accounting.
- Prepare full accounting and administration function for the schools P&F.
- Maintenance of asset register.
- Prepare FBT, GST (BAS) and Workcover annual wages declaration. and other statutory returns.
- Preparation of Commonwealth Census reports and other government compliance reports.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager on financial audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist in financial systems improvement projects as needed.
- Support accounts receivable and payroll processing as needed, but not as a primary duty.
Qualifications and Skills
- The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, with a preference for those working towards or holding a CPA/CA qualification. Accounting experience is essential and a background in the education sector is advantageous.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Latin Teacher | Permanent Full Time | Commencing Term 1, 2025
Hills Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Latin Teacher to join our Languages Department, teaching Years 7-12. The successful candidate will ideally have experience teaching Latin senior classes and a proven ability to inspire and engage students in the study of Latin and Classical Studies. This role is a permanent full-time position (or as negotiated) to commence in Term 1, 2025.This position reports to the Head of Department – Languages.

This role will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with our alumni community, developing engagement strategies, and enhancing the overall alumni experience. Maintenance/Facilities | Permanent Full Time | Immediate Start with Flexibility
Are you enthusiastic about maintaining a clean and beautiful environment?
Hills Grammar School is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Maintenance/Facilities team. This role involves collaborating with the maintenance and grounds team to ensure the upkeep of our school's buildings, grounds, and sporting fields.
Key requirements include a strong understanding of safe work practices, the ability to problem-solve and work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team, and a valid driver’s licence.
The role reports directly to the Head of Maintenance assisted by the Assistant Head of Maintenance.
You will be responsible for:
- Performing general maintenance and minor building works.
- Following a regular schedule of tasks and maintenance audits.
- Accessing roofs when necessary, adhering to Safe Work Procedures.
- Moving and relocating furniture as needed within the school.
- Assisting with manual tasks, including lifting and setting up for school events, in compliance with WH&S guidelines.
- Regularly collecting supplies from authorised suppliers.
- Contributing to the School Maintenance Plan and Essential Annual Safety Measures.
