Rebecca James

Class of 1997 | Group Chief Executive Officer

Rebecca's biography is certainly an impressive one in the world of business - from start-ups to ASX listed companies.

At only 22 years of age Ms James was a co-founder of Lavender, the largest independent digital advertising and customer experience agency.

At 27 she was the youngest Managing Director in her field. A number of years later, Rebecca became Chief Marketing Officer for ME and was voted #12 in the top 50 CMOs in Australia. Her next appointment was with Prospa as Chief Marketing and Enterprise Officer and most importantly, mum to baby Jude.

In 2018 she was approached to lead a financial services company as CEO of Flexigroup. Ms James is one of only 14 women to run an ASX listed business in Australia.

The 2019 Hills Grammar Original Award was accepted with all the grace and humility we remember from her days as Vice Captain at ‘Hills’. Rebecca's speech was steeped in gratitude and the acknowledgement of the power great teaching has on one’s life, both personally and professionally.
