Hills Grammar appreciates that every child and young person is different. Our aim is to identify, nurture and expand on each person’s passions, skills and capacity in order for them to graduate into the world as confident, accomplished and original.
The School has a comprehensive intake and is open to all students regardless of cultural, socio-economic and religious background. Hills Grammar has a non-selective (no entrance tests) admission policy where each application is considered on its merits. Priority is given to siblings of children already enrolled and to the children of former students. The School is proudly co-educational and aims to provide an equal number of places for boys and girls. All applicants are expected to demonstrate a willingness and ability to support the School’s mission and values and to apply themselves to academic study and participate fully in school life.
We believe that the safe and supportive environment of Hills Grammar has a lot to offer students. Through a combination of its challenging academic program and diverse co-curricular opportunities, students embark on a learning journey that will prepare them well for whatever future they may choose.

In assessing applications for enrolment, each prospective student’s educational needs are considered and where necessary further information is sought in consultation with parents and other relevant people. The student’s date of application, gender, sibling status, readiness for school, academic progress, and co-curricular involvement are all factors (as appropriate) that are taken into account during the assessment.
Application Policy and Procedure
- An application form must be lodged for each child.
- For domestic students, an application fee of $242 is payable for the first child and $193 is payable for each succeeding sibling.
- For international students, an application fee of $385 is payable
- Acceptance of the application by the School does not constitute admission of the student
- Your application will be acknowledged in writing after which you and your child/children will be invited to attend an enrolment interview.
- Prior to attending the interview, parents/carers will be asked to submit supporting documentation including references, school reports, results of public tests, immunisation papers, as well as information relating to any special needs.
- The interview covers the following;
- the student’s broad interests, achievements and general ambitions for the future
- the student’s academic performance and development to date
- our consideration of the students’ personal characteristics and readiness to participate in the academic programs of the Year Group for which they are applying
- our assessment of the student’s and family’s willingness to support the School’s values and its code of conduct.
- In some circumstances, an additional interview may be required in order to confirm personal details or to better understand identified learning needs
- Following the enrolment interview, a Letter of Offer for a place in the school will be issued subject to vacancies.
- To secure the place for your child you are to return the forms that accompany the Letter of Offer together with the non-refundable enrolment fee of $1750 by the due date.
- The Acceptance of Offer becomes a legally binding contract between yourself and the School.
While it is expected that there will be no change to the Fee Schedule during the course of an academic year, the School Council reserves the right to change the Fee Schedules in the event of exceptional circumstances.
