ArtsBeat

We witnessed the amazing talent of our students across a plethora of fields during ArtsBeat. The Junior and Senior musicians amazed us with their outstanding performances. The talented drama students demonstrated how clever they are at improvisation and performance. Our budding artists from ECEC through to Year 12 exhibited works that were exceptional and the Connect groups produced recycled works of art that were imaginative, conceptually sophisticated, and ingeniously used materials from crushed soft drink cans to plastic straws.

We even had the first-ever Hills Poet Laureate competition. The Year 10 students read their original poems with passion and enthusiasm. The judges and audience were thrilled with their use of powerful, evocative language and significant themes. Congratulations to the winner, Maka Mbakada whose slam poem was inspirational and thank you to Ms Zarebski and the English Faculty for inspiring their students!

ArtsBeat not only revealed the talents of our students, but it also enabled our parents to enjoy being a student at Hills and learn new skills. The cupcakes were beautiful, and the paintings revealed the inner artist of many parents. One dad invented his own brown hue – “Lester Brown!” Thank you to Claire Napoli, Cate Redman and the Advancement and Engagement team for organising a wonderful celebration of the Arts.
