Senior School

Our Senior School (Years 7-12) maintains intentionally smaller year groups of up to 120 students, a size carefully chosen to cultivate a personalised experience.
This approach ensures every child is well known and supported across all facets of their education.

We foster a dynamic learning environment, offering a wide array of subjects, within a supportive wellbeing program, complemented by rich co-curricular opportunties.

Year 7 - 12

At the heart of our school are our exceptional teachers, experts in their fields, dedicated to tailoring instruction to each student’s needs. The strong bonds formed between teachers and students endure long after graduation, reflecting the relational foundation of Hills Grammar.

Our commitment to student wellbeing begins from the outset, as we guide the transition from Year 6 to Year 7, seamlessly integrating new students into our Hills Grammar community. Throughout the journey from Year 7 to Year 12, our wellbeing structure, led by Heads of Year and the House System, provides daily support, nurturing each student’s growth.

We recognise the vital role of parents and caregivers in a student’s education. Their input is not only welcomed but valued, fostering consistency between home and school expectations. Our staff continuously engage in professional development to strengthen this partnership and enhance student learning.

Learning and Teaching

Growing Minds

Our whole school pedagogical statement, Deeper Water, Deeper Learning  is the result of extensive research, consultation and professional development of our teachers.

The statement informs the Hills Grammar community about our current approaches to Learning and Teaching, but also points the way to future innovations as the School strives to achieve its deeper purpose. We are conscious of both the reality of our mandatory obligations and preparations for high stakes examinations like the HSC, but also of the need to develop within our students the 21st Century skills which will facilitate their success in the world they will inherit.

Wellbeing

Nurturing Character

Promoting learning and wellbeing at Hills Grammar is integral to the daily lived experience of every individual student.

Our small class sizes enable our staff to know our students well, and individually adjust the classroom environment to help enrich connections with each student both individually and as part of a whole class.

Our staff and students work in partnership on our school values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence. These values are celebrated through our RISE award system and staff look for every opportunity to proactively recognise and celebrate each student as they demonstrate these values across all aspects of the school day.

Co-curricular

Discovering Passions

The Co-curricular Program at Hills Grammar is an integral part of the whole school curriculum and provides wonderful opportunities for students to further develop their skills and interests.

We offer a broad range of activities including Sport; Creative, Spoken and Performing Arts; Music; Leadership and Service Learning; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Outdoor Education.
