Throughout this semester we will be trialling a new spelling program as an intervention strategy for groups of students in Years 1 to 6. These short and regular small group sessions will be led by a number of different teachers and we will be evaluating the impact of this targeted intervention for the students involved. Once the pilot is complete, we will be in a positon to make an informed decision as to whether to introduce this program more widely across the Junior School in 2018. This intervention program will be additional to the existing spelling programs taking place within all classrooms and will give the students involved the opportunity to strengthen their skills in this important area of the curriculum.
