Book Week 2017 has the theme “Escape to Everywhere” and will run Monday August 21 Week 6 until Friday August 25. We have a fantastic week of celebration planned with each class decorating their classroom doors (to be judged by Mr Yeowell), lunch time puppet shows, photo booths and drama games assisted by the Year 11 drama students. The Book Parade at 9.30am Friday in the MPH can be an exciting mix of the theme “Escape to Everywhere” and/or “Friday Pirate Day”. Please bring a gold coin and we will be sending all donations to the Kids Cancer Project for research into childhood cancers.

Author Gavin McCormack is visiting us again for the full day on Wednesday August 23. His new book Where's My Memory? tells the story of Bernard the desert elephant who struggles during the midday heat. In their desperate need for water, his family are forced to walk on. After several days and nights, hope of his survival slowly fades until an unexpected act gives him the strength to keep going. He learns important lessons about the value of selflessness and random acts of kindness. Follow Bernard as he understands the true power of kindness that will not only save himself but will help to pass on his new-found wisdom to his entire family too.  Signed copies of Where’s My Memory will be available for purchase, a note will sent home soon for orders, perhaps you may also like to buy a copy for a gift. Last time Gavin visited we enjoyed his book Where’s My Glasses.

Stay tuned for more information.
