As part of their ‘How the World Works’ Unit of Inquiry, Year 3 have been learning about the changes that occur on the Earth’s surface. They have been investigating changes that occur with the Earth’s crust, including earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Year 3 were very excited to build and erupt their own volcanoes in an experiment. They combined a variety of ingredients that resulted in their volcanoes erupting! Through this experiment, the students were able to investigate many scientific processes such as chemical reactions, force and pressure. The Year 3 teachers were thrilled to see the deep level of understanding and the sheer delight of each and every student as their volcano erupted.
