Last Friday our boys and girls volleyball teams competed at their third state cup competition. Coming off the back of their previous success in Newcastle our Under 15 boys team once again showed their improvement in all facets of the game. This time they were able to beat Rooty Hill who were the Newcastle champions to again qualify for the semi finals, unfortunately going down to end up finishing 3rd overall.
Our Under 16 Girls who have been playing for just three weeks had a draw and some very close loses. Scores of 25-23 in most sets. The team finished 7th overall, and it seems that a number of the girls are very keen to come back for the next competition.
Open Girls won their first set to earn a draw against James Meehan HS (amazing effort). They had some very good character building matches as they played state representative and girls who play at Open Women’s Honours level. They improved their serving and attack significantly and we are looking forward to continued improvement at the next competition.
Our senior girls netball team competed in the AICES Netball championships on Thursday. A full summary of their results will be reported on next term.
Our school futsal teams have been participating on the regional championships this week. A full summary of their results will be reported on next term.
