On Tuesday 30 May, Year 6 went to the Seymour Theatre to watch the Sydney Symphony Orchestra perform. The Orchestra played pieces titled Machine Music. The conductor was extremely entertaining and he informed us about the different components that make up a musical piece. We also learnt about the different instrument families and what instruments belongs to each family. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance and we gained a lot of knowledge about music.
After that, we went to the Art Gallery of New South Wales and visited three exhibitions. We went to The Asian Art Gallery, The 15th-21st Century European and Australian Art and The Yiribana Gallery of Aboriginal Art. Each individual piece represented something unique and told a special story.
Overall Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed this excursion.
