On Friday 19 May two Hills Grammar volleyball teams competed in the second NSW State Volleyball Schools Cup in Newcastle.

The boys U15s team won three out of their five round games to secure their place in the semi-finals. It was an exciting game and the boys won impressively 2-0. There was some great defence and dominance on the net. Well done boys!

The boys played a nail-biting final against the top Rooty Hill High School team and it was point for point most of the game but the Rooty Hill spikers just got the better of us at the end. Taking a silver medal is a very impressive result for only their second tournament and the team should be so proud of themselves.

While the girls open team did not take away any wins on the day they showed great sportsmanship, worked hard to improve every match and put up a great fight against some very experienced Volleyball players. Well done to both Hills Grammar volleyball teams on a very successful tournament!

A special thank you to Mr Leong who travelled with the team and assisted with coaching on the day.
