Class Parents

A reminder that all parents interested in helping with our Spring Fair are invited to join us at our next Class Parent meeting on Thursday 18 May from 8:45am in the Pavilion. Lisl Dobson our Fair Coordinator will be updating everyone about the Fair and it will be a chance to chat with your year group coordinator/s about how you can make a contribution to this very exciting event in the Hills Grammar calendar. Please come along and support your Year Group stall coordinators. Please drop Cate Redman a quick email for catering purposes

The next Class Parent Function is the Year 11 outing to the ABMT in the Pavilion on 25 May and to look at student artwork in the Booth Centre.

Year 11 Presentation Ball

A reminder that if you would like your child to participate in the Year 11 Presentation Ball sign up forms are now due. For further information please see the attached information booklet. The Ball takes place on Saturday 5 August at Oatlands House and there are five dance lessons over terms 2 and 3 which take place on Friday afternoons in the MPH. The total cost of these lessons is $65. At the Ball, all students (boys and girls) are presented to a Guest of Honour. They partner each other down the red carpet (while their biographies are read by the Master of Ceremonies) and for the dance. They aren’t ‘couples’ as such and there is no protocol or policy for girls asking boys to partner them. Some students arrange to partner each other while others come to the first dance rehearsal and are partnered throughout the rehearsal period. If we find there are not enough girls or boys, we ask Year 12 students to join the group. If you require any further information about the evening please contact Cate Redman in Community Relations

Scholastics Book Fair

The annual Scholastics Book Fair will take place a bit earlier this year from Monday 5 June to Friday 9. The event is one of the main fundraisers for the Junior School. The Book Fair is an event enjoyed by all our Junior School students and once again our parent organisers will be calling on the generous support of parents from our school community to make this event a success. Throughout the Fair volunteers can help by assisting students with the selection of books, restocking shelves, serving customers and selling novelties and posters.  Traditionally the busiest day of the Book Fair is Grandparents and Friends’ Day, which this year will be held on Friday 9 June. On this day many helpers are needed to make this event enjoyable for our very generous grandparents and friends of Hills Grammar. If you can help with the event please contact Liz Mitchell or Kathryn McEvoy
