At the start of Term 3, Year 7 students undertook the first dedicated STEM unit of work. The unit, called Solar Citizens was based on an inquiry into the use of energy to heat water and developing more sustainable energy practices.
All Science, Technology and Mathematics units were used for the unit and the new open learning centre in Mathematics was well utilised. The unit provided outstanding opportunities students to develop their “enterprise” skills – skills essential for their futures.
A showcase of the students work will be run between 5.00PM and 7.00PM on August 31st in conjunction with the HSC Showcases for TAS and Drama. All parents, carers, students and friends are invited to join our Year 7 students as they share their learning from the STEM unit.
