STEM Project for Year 7
Well done to all Year 7 students who participated in the STEM Challenge.
The Presentation Event on 31 August promises to be an impressive evening.
Science and Engineering Challenge
On Friday, 11 August, 31 Year 9 and 10 students participated in the Science and Engineering Challenge at Sydney Olympic Park. The event was organised by the University of Newcastle in conjunction with the Office of NSW Chief Scientist and Engineers and the Rotary clubs of Sydney. The challengers provided the students with a positive experience of Science and Engineering in action, and the opportunity to use their problem solving and thinking skills. They had to work collaboratively with members of their group to complete the activities. Eight schools competed against each other in various challenges and points were awarded for each. Hills Grammar were placed third overall on the day. We also won the Bridge Challenge, points were awarded for the strength of the bridge and its ability to bear the greatest mass. Our students were thoroughly engaged on the day and had a fantastic time.
Welcome back to Year 12, who have just completed their Trial exams. Only a few weeks left to graduation.
Good luck to all our Year 12 students.
