On September 4, Hills Grammar Junior School will undertake an evaluation by the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

The visit aims to examine the progress of the Primary Years Program over the past four years, and will help the school establish goals for its future implementation through the development of an action plan.

The evaluation team will consist of two members; Lee Wilde from the ACT and Matt Baron from Victoria, who will speak to students, teachers, parents, leaders and members of School Council during their three-day visit.

We recently submitted a self-study questionnaire and the associated paperwork required for the evaluation. The visiting team will review the paperwork and will then be in our school observing PYP in action; visiting classrooms, examining work samples and reviewing our program documentation from ECEC to Year 6.

Once the visit concludes, the team will submit their findings in the form of a written report, to the IB head office in The Hague. Once reviewed, the report will be issued to the school, highlighting areas of strength and areas for further development and action planning.

We look forward to sharing the findings of the report sometime in Term 4.
